Fundraiser Sat 4/19, Volunteer Workday Sun 4/20

It’s an Earth Day springtime double down on the Cresheim Trail! Choose from two options (or choose both):

  • SATURDAY, APRIL 19TH, 7–9PM: Join us on the Trail to the Future, Friends of the Cresheim Trail’s 2025 fundraiser to formally kick off the engineering and design phase of the Cresheim Rail Trail between Germantown and Stenton Avenues. We’ve got great food, great music, and a pretty great trio of new CT items (a t-shirt, a water bottle, and a map) for sale, all of which will support FOCT do the work to expand the trail and take care of what we’ve already built. DETAILS AND TICKETS HERE.
  • SUNDAY, APRIL 20TH, 9AM–12PM: This month’s volunteer workday is our little celebration of Earth Day here in the Cresheim Valley. We’ll meet at Chestnut Hill Mermaid Park (7645 Germantown Avenue), the green space between Chestnut Hill Flower & Garden and Mermaid Inn. We have two tasks we’ll focus on: Opening phase 2 of the Friends Loop trail (from the top of the stone stairs out to the SEPTA Chestnut Hill East tracks) and continued clearance of invasive vegetation and deadfall from the quarry, for which we’re in the early stages of beginning a restoration.

An indoor option and an outdoor option, both of which support the Cresheim Trail. Hope to see you at one — or both!

Also, we recognize that Sunday the 20th is a holiday, so we are happy to announce that a special midweek volunteer service day will happen on Wednesday, May 7th at 9am. We have dozens of new plants to get in the ground, so help us with a spring planting and stay tuned for details.
