The June Cresheim Trail volunteer workday will be an extra special one, as it’s both the summer solstice and Father’s Day. Bring dad along and let’s welcome summer with a morning of trail stewardship — Sunday, June 21st.
We’ll meet at 9am at the classic CT meetup spot, on *northbound* Cresheim Valley Drive opposite Navajo Street. If you’re driving, please do NOT park on southbound CVD. There’s plenty of room on the northbound shoulder. If you’re walking, it’s <5m from the Germantown Avenue trailhead.
We’re going to put some attention on the mainstem CT and the Upper and Outer Loops, including the boardwalk, plus we’ll have some tasks in the sunny sections under the power lines. Summer vegetation trimming, checking on our plantings, a little this, a little that. Lots to do, lots of fun, and we’ll be joined by David Bower and the FOW Q-Team. And the bottlebrush buckeye in the photo at right ought to be in just about peak bloom by then.
ALSO: We’re planning a special one-off volunteer workday on Wednesday, July 1st, to make our second cutting of japanese knotweed in the Quarry Rock Garden. Stay tuned for additional details.
