On Saturday, May 18th, Friends of the Cresheim Trail and our friends in Mt Airy and Chestnut Hill will close Cresheim Valley Drive to traffic between Germantown and Stenton Avenues and take to the streets with trash bags and trash pickers and clean the drive as part of Love Your Park spring festivities. We’ll meet at 9am at Chestnut Hill Mermaid Park (7645 Germantown Ave), the pocket park between Mermaid Inn and Chestnut Hill Flower & Garden.
PLEASE NOTE: The Chestnut Hill Farmers Market will be happening, so if you’re driving, please plan on parking a couple blocks away. There is usually room for parking on the 7500–7600 blocks of Germantown Ave (Mt Airy side).
As always, we are very grateful to Philadelphia Streets Department for the logistical assist, to Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and Fairmount Park Conservancy for the Love Your Park support, and to our partners Mt Airy Trash Team, Chestnut Hill Community Association, and Mt Airy CDC for coming out and pitching in. And our gratitude has extra sweetness from Night Kitchen Bakery‘s donation of cookies and energy from Locals Coffee. Thanks to all!
Saturday, May 18th, 9am–12pm. So we have an understanding of head count, please sign up HERE. See you then!
Our next volunteer workday after this will be Sunday, June 9th.
