Earth Day Workday! Volunteer event Sun 4/19

The Friends of the Cresheim Trail recognize that every day is Earth Day, but on Sunday, April 19th, it’s really gonna be Earth Day. Earth Day Weekend, at least, and we’ve invited all our friends for a morning back in the Quarry Rock Garden. Join us Sunday, April 19th, 9am–12pm as we continue removing deadfall and detritus, exposing rock features, and slowly making improvements on a space that we intend on returning to glory.

This work will build on an excellent volunteer outing in March, continuing what FOCT began with the Friends Loop in 2023. This year, with financial assistance from Athletic Brewing’s Two for the Trails program, we’re leveling up our vision for the space as a beautiful, long-term community asset. Come see what it’s all about.

Extra shout of gratitude to our partners for this outing: David Bower and the Friends of the Wissahickon Q-Team, Wissahickon Restoration Volunteers, and Chestnut Hill Community Association.

We’ll meet at Mermaid Park in Chestnut Hill (7645 Germantown Ave), the green space between Mermaid Inn and Chestnut Hill Flower & Garden. Parking is available along Winston Road and Germantown Avenue (including the 7500 block, closer to New Covenant Campus and the Trolley Car Diner construction site).
