The Cresheim Trail volunteer workday for April is a multi-level celebration: For one, it’s Earth Day weekend, and what better way to celebrate than by pitching in to make it just a little better? And secondly, it’s the first anniversary of the creation of the Friends Loop — the Cresheim-adjacent loop trail on the Chestnut Hill side of Cresheim Valley Drive.
Once again, our friends from Chestnut Hill Community Association will join us to give the ⅓-mile trail a little TLC. We’ll remove invasive plants in the old quarry, clean the staircase, and do a little moderate trail maintenance as well as trash removal (both here and across the road at the Germantown Avenue Cresheim trailhead).
We’ll meet at 9am on Sunday, April 21st at Chestnut Hill Mermaid Park (7645 Germantown Avenue), the pocket park between Mermaid Inn and Chestnut Hill Flower & Garden that CHCA’s Greenspace team cares for. If you’re driving, parking shouldn’t be an issue as the farmer’s market is on Saturdays.
And save the date for next month: We’ll do our annual Cresheim Valley Drive cleanup between Germantown and Stenton Avenues on Saturday May 18. Additional details to come.
