Friends of the Cresheim Trail is happy to take part in another fall planting as part of the Love Your Park Fall Service — and in our case, we’re giving folks an extra opportunity to participate. While the main volunteer service will take place on November 12th, ours will happen on Saturday, November 19th at 9am. (Sign up HERE.)
With support from Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and Fairmount Park Conservancy, FoCT will plant roughly 25 native trees, including pawpaws, hornbeams, and hollies, in the shaded damp area near the trail boardwalk. In addition to plantings, we may also tend to some trail work as time allows.
We’ll meet at 9am on the park side of Cresheim Valley Drive opposite Navajo Street. We encourage folks to ride bikes or hike there, but if you drive, there is parking along CV Drive (park side / northbound) and along Germantown Avenue in front of New Covenant Campus (from which it’s about a 7-minute walk). You may also park along Navajo Street, but PLEASE USE CAUTION crossing CV Drive, as there is no pedestrian crosswalk.
