Ed’s Loop opened in 2024 along with the first official mowing of the future Cresheim Rail Trail between Germantown and Stenton Avenues.
The quarter-mile trail allows trail users to loop back to the main rail trail through a small patch of woods. The trail passes over a small tributary of Cresheim Creek only visible on Ed’s Loop via a stone ford built by FOCT volunteers.
Ed’s Loop is named for the late Ed Kreeger, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation’s former district manager who helped FOCT coordinate the rail trail’s opening.
