Cresheim Trail Volunteer Workday Sat 7/18

As promised, our next volunteer workday is coming on Saturday July 18th. And it’ll be a classic trail day on the classic Cresheim.

Join FOCT, Lower Merion Trail Blazers and friends as we give the trail some much needed TLC: grade reversals, deberming, possible minor reroutes, maybe even some new features. We’ll meet where the Cresheim Trail crosses Cresheim Road at 9am and head out in small groups to different parts of the trail. Bring your bike and we’ll take a lap after we’re done.

If you’re driving, go downhill from Allens Lane on *westbound* Cresheim Road and pull your car onto the shoulder. [Map.] We’ll have tools and gloves but you’re welcome to bring yours if you like.

Also, we know there’s work to do as a result of the recent storms — realigning the boardwalk, and cleaning the tree cages of flood debris, for example — in addition to the postponed knotweed cutting. And the rail trail rough draft between Germantown and Stenton will be mowed within the next week or two. Always lots to do in the summertime.

Our next scheduled workday is Sunday August 16th, but we may squeeze another one in before then. Stay tuned.
